Well Nasa latest crop are none to spectacular atm either but they do have a rather large advantage in they are getting much closer to the target

I'd be happy with that if it was my image. I'm not a multi-billion dollar space agency though.

They are using a 10 year or older camera as well.

Seems that LORRI which took those images is a MASSIVE 1 megagpixel, 1024x1024 ccd. :eek: . How many on a cheap DSLR these days ??

Me too, im looking forward to the final "official" collection of images.

I'm looking forward to the IAU eating humble pie when they see the images and reinstate Pluto as a fully fledged planet.

I think if anything the increase in resolution and the added moons over the years go to show that the object originally observed and called Pluto is in reality a collection of objects further reinforcing dwarf planet status. or maybe make a new one relating to a cluster of objects?
