Altair Astro pier mount

Hello,

Hi have built my pier using the altair astro pier mount adaptor, and it is perfect. However, there is ever so slightly a bit of play between the telescope mount and when I inset it in to the pier .... only like 1/2mm, but just enough to concern me. Should I just add a bit of tape in the hole to take up the slop ?

Hi Alistair. That sounds odd. Are you saying when you've tightened all four bolts the adapter plate still moves on the pier?

No not that. It is when i slot the mount head on to the adaptor - it is just a fraction out. I tighten it down from underneath but if i bump it there is a slight movement.

Can't say I have noticed that particularly once the Az bolts are tightened it shouldn't happen. My mount is wound up pretty tight on the central bolt.
