Moon Challenge with a Mallincam!

Hello All,

Normally when the Moon is out I like to view it and so I am not one of those Moon Bashers who get upset due to the light pollution it creates.  However, the night before last I could not see it as it has now moved out of my small window of sky so my only option was to try and beat it and make the most of the clear sky!  Anyway excuse made, these DSOs were the best I could muster.  Pesky Moon :(

Excellent shots there! I do think these faint DSO's are where video astronomy really works well and offers amazing 'live' views. Great to see colour in M82

Yes, old Looooona, does seem to be hanging around recently? :p

Finally got around to taking a few videos of M27 with my Baader

Neodymium and UHC filters... See if these make any difference. ;)

I am working towards a few Narrow Band tests sometime?

Can empathise with your limited sky window. Recently a neighbour

pruned some of his trees for the first time, but they're growing back.

Back to imaging above a street lamp + floodlit community centre? :o

Hi Chris, Yes I also used my Baader filter for these and it does help but sadly you need much longer exposure!  M27 is one of my faves but alas it is currently the wrong side of my house :)  I look forward to seeing your video of that one.
