tube needed to focus dslr on 8se?

Thinking about attaching my DSLR to the back of my 8SE (rather than plugging it into the eyepiece holder).

I have a ring that will attach to my canon T-ring and to the threaded holder on the scope.

Can anyone advise if I should be able to achieve focus like that, or will I need to add a tube between the camera and the scope? I have 15, 25, 30 and 40mm tubes which I could use either individually or in combination. I think the fewer tubes I can get away with and still achieve focus the more stable the setup will be.

SCT`s and Maks have a long range in the focus travel, give it a go and see if it works with the shortest tube

I could always focus my (D)SLR using just the standard T2 adapter without problems. You should be OK

Thanks, guys. That should hopefully make for some slightly better shots.

Just to confirm that focus was achieved without any need for extension tubes.  Three quick turns on the focussing knob, which is about the same as is needed to focus the webcam in the e/p holder.
