Photoshop high pass filter?

Hi folks:

Are a lot of SGL members using the high pass filter for planetary processing and what would be the benefits?

I'm still tring to learn some of this and curious about this aspect of the processing .

High pass will tighten up the details and take some of the fuzziness out of the image. But it must be used carefully and selectively (easy to overdo it), otherwise you end up with that shrivelled-up look (a bit too crispy).
