Eclipse Glasses with Binoculars

Recommended Posts

Suspect it will be a problem, you are collecting something like 100 times the light so the film used becomes in effect two "steps" lower.

Meaning the ND 5 for visual is "about" the same as ND3 for imaging.

There is also the collection of infra red (heat) to consider, that will be concentrated at the eyepiece end and will overheat things, liken the solar film and if that gets damaged it is no longer solar film.

The best option is to get some film and build a cover for the front objectives so that you are filtering the incident light.

Thanks, was confused because i thought, the light is focused into my cornea and the glasses are not in the focus point so it might not get the heat to burn it. instead reflect most of it and somehow make it safe for my cornea. just a thought. :p
