Quasar hotspot in Serpens

Recommended Posts

Following on from my shot of tiny quasar 3C321 [included here for completeness] in northern Serpen Caput, four other bright quasars ~mag 16.5 were spotted in Megastar and targetted as close-by.   The bright gibbous moon nearby was unhelpful and the brief subs had to be adjusted accordingly to avoid white-out.     Data on images. Used my obsy Meade 30cm  f/4 SCT+SX Lodestar-Mx2 mono camera shown full frame.  Simple contrast stretch only.

3C321

q1517+239  x4 more remote than other quasars here!

q1519+226

OK quasars aren't much to look at but their distances are amazing and the tally for the session = 16 BLY light travel time !  Hope they are of interest ;-)
