Ls60t +baader zoom + baader zoom barlow?

Just wondering would this work? If know the zoom itself works well with this scope and at the higher mag end 8× is fine. With the barlow it becomes a 10 x too 3 × zoom. If know from experience that this scope can handle that albeit on good days. So with the barlow fitted, at least a quarter of the range should work. Any opinions please? Thanks

wishing you sunny days.

I dropped in a 6mm BCO today for laughs and it seemed to cope reasonably well on proms although the surface detail lost contrast. This may have been the seeing or the effects of such a small exit pupil. I personally like to stick to around a 1mm exit pupil for daytime or night time use which in the case of the LS60 is the recommended 8mm.

I used exactly the same 6 mm and like you said the proms were good but the surface detail was also good (I was surprised) all comes down too seeing and transparency. I felt I could go further and will do when conditions allow. I've noticed even though the surface detail downgrades as you up the mag, it still allows decent viewing of plague areas which emerging flux is poking through. I witnessed that only today.

wishing you sunny days.

I have on occasion used a 5mm Vixen SLV in my SM-II 60, which gives similar magnification to a 6mm in the LS60 (80x vs 83.3x). It works on days of really good seeing, but I think I would prefer having a 6mm handy (66.7x). The 7.5mm shortest focal length of my zoom gives 53.3x, which is just a bit too low on good days
