SCT Internal thermal equilibrium affected by anti- dew heater?

Anyone experience any issues or image degradation from unequal internal thermal equilibrium from using an anti-dew heater around the corrector plate while imaging with an SCT?

When doing lunar imaging with my Edge 8 the dew heater strip doesn't seem to make too much difference. The seeing comes and goes from bad to good on various nights all while the strip is on so I figure the big factors are not the heater strip. A few nights with a bit of wind I have used no heater strip nor dew shield and things did not look obviously better to me overall. Will be interested to see what others have found.

interesting question as we read so much about cooling scopes to match ambient temperature ... then heat it up again  , slightly !

My thoughts too - why spend time cooling the scope down only to heat it up?
