I saw one bit that suggested that camera heat rise is due, at least in part, to heating from the battery which increases with time. Using a mains or DC supply is helpful.

Yeah, I've heard that about the battery too! I imagine in Thailand your ambient temperature is pretty high? When I visited it was still very warm at night and the beer was very cheap - wish it was like that here!

Don't know about the beer, but most eves after dark it' 25c or so except for mid  December through January. Some really clear seeing in cold season when temp plunges to near single digits. Air becomes quite dry. Now humidity high for a while.

'Near single digits' must be a nice, comfortable temperature for astro Probably won't get that warm here for another 6 weeks and by then the nights will be getting quite short
