Stargazing Apps

I  find Apps to be too bright, even those that have red lighting. They just spoil the night vision.

Planning my sessions, I'll  use Stellarium on my PC,  then go out and view. I  generally only view one constellation or target at a time. The more time spent studying a single target, the more you will see, if the seeing conditions are in your favour.

When conditions allow,  I'm already primed as to what I should be seeing, and if the conditions are good, and I get to  view the target, then that's a bonus.  I have a  limited circle of Sky to view from my observatory encompassing  Ursa Major and Cassiopeia, with Polaris (which feels as if  its right overhead, given I'm only N57°) and a hint of the Milky way. drive about a mile away, and on a good night, the Milky way casts a shadow?
