So I spent a little time with the moon earlier whilst I get to grips with my EQ tripod! Managed this little corker with my iPhone & astromaster 99.

Nice Afocal images. its how I got started with imaging the moon as well. great fun...though it only gets more expensive ;-) I have just come in from a couple of hours outside...jeez its cold tonight!

Isn't it just, nearly ended up on my backside a few times so I've come in. Seeing how far I can push Jupiter in this new scope, the eq1 mount lets it down big time! Wind wobbles at the slightest breeze

I did some Afocal jupiter images when I started off. I used my one of my TAL refractors, and a point a shoot camera (on a bracket). did quite well with it for a while. Gave up after frost started to appear on the scope....though I do now have over 60GB of data to process! should take me a while to pull any decent images out...though its also meant to be clear down here tomorrow night as well.
