Meissa, into Orion .

An interesting group, the λ Orionis cluster,

Meissa presents a lovely quadruple group, look for the wider delicate C and D.

Quite a damp and cold evening, but Orion and his bow were rising high over the town lights, hurrah !

Eta Orionis split out at x200 showing bright , un equals at 1.7".

Σ700 was easy at x100 showing a near equal pair at 5". Don't forget to catch

Rigel (β Orionis), delightfully colourful and a visit to Alnitak then drop down to

Sigma Orionis shows what a fine triple this is.

Clouds drifted in and out, frost came and went. The dew was just dripping , but Orion is such a beauty, I'm coming back for five pages of treats ,

Nick a nice set of doubles. I decided to concentrate on doubles in Aries although I did have a look at Rigel and the Trapezium but could not see E and F in my 4" frac. Yes it was very cold and the objectives in the 4" and the Opticstar 80mm (used as a finder) both dewed up.
