Rigel riser

If there was one thing that would improve my enjoyment of this excellent piece of kit, it would be the ability to rise it higher above the telescope tube.

Of course Telrad has readily available riser blocks, but I haven't seen one for Rigel (and even if I did, I'd rather make things myself)

I already had laying around 3" PVC guttering pipe and solvent weld cement from my plumbing projects.

PVC pipe can be flattened, bent and shaped when heated with heat gun.

Solvent cement makes permanent (if sometimes messy) joints.

I'd always thought the Rigel finder to offer a better position over the Telrad anyway ?? Either way I'm all up for DIY threads hope it works out for you

Common optical illusion caused by one being vertical and other horizontal.

Looking good . Must say that comparison picture with the telrad caught me out too. I always thought the Rigel stood higher than a telrad .

Easy project, but well worth it (in my view) - should stop the pain in the neck
