Rifle sight on a telescope?

Recommended Posts

Just received an "Elecro Dot" Sight (http://www.opticspla...s-atiduosi.html) which I intended to use to replace the poor quality RDFs, which have a lifetime measured in weeks.

Lovely bit of kit, well made, all metal, really robust.

BUT and it's a big but- contrary to the instructions "Your E/D sight includes an integrated rail that fits standard dovetailed bases". It doesn't

Anyone usuing one of these, or similar for astronomy? If so I'd really love to know how you mounted it on your 'scope.

That would be a standard dovetail rail on a rifle which is 19mm. Sky-watcher are 11mm dovetails. TBH if you bought a rifle MR red dot finder you may find it a little too bright for finding things at night anyway. WO MR finders are made purposely for astronomy and so dim a lot further allowing better view of stars behind and also not upsetting your night vision.
