Starting to digiscope- Basic requirements

Here ya go, my first foray into this expensive sport.

Surprisingly I did get a full Moon.

Camera Point n Shoot Pentax, Binoculars 20x80, mount lightweight plastic pan/tilt.

Note the 'classy' addition of black insulation tape to give it that 'Pro' look. ;)

This item is still in my Astrobox. :) although it did see use over the Summer in its usual setting.

The usual scope for planetary imaging is an SCT or Mak goto/tracking and a webcam.

Find planet, swap eyepiece for webcam, track planet to get a video (webcam needs attaching to a laptop), process the .avi file.

As planets are bright many will put a 2x or 3x barlow in the optics to obtain a bigger image of the planet on the webcam..

What you can get with a 200P - I assume Dobsonian, I do not know, simply because tracking the object so that it remains reasonably central appears to be a requitrement of the processing software.
