Spent a very enjoyable evening getting my scope set up and collimated, which was not as difficult as I thought it might be as the instructions that came were actually quite easy to follow. Spent another hour today setting up the finder scope and telrad - still waiting for clear skies!

Hello and welcome! An 8" telescope is a great scope! You can see faint deep sky object with it too.
