so how many times did i reboot the laptop at 4am this morning, before i realised i was trying to use the ASI120mm with the wrong capture progamme   it was only after the 4 attempt and a cup of coffee, did the epithany like realisation that i was being an idiot occur  

still firecapture opened and the seeing being average as usual, at least the GRS was visible on Jupiter.

back to bed for a couple of hours now, and hopefully some Solar imaging later!

Suggestion. Rename the icon to include the camera name. Been there on work applications. Its infuriating isnt it?!!!

been mostly solar imaing with the DMK all summer, not used the ASI for a while. i have done exactly what you suggested, thanks, a good idea.
