Had a good session at the farm last night with far less light pollution and the trans yesterday was excellent. Wish I'd got a dslr years ago having so much fun with this!

Quick process on this :

1000d + az/alt tracking mount@ 1 min exposure ISO 1600 :

Here is another with a longer exposure of 86 secs and ISO 800 ;

I prefer the first image (I like the bit of foreground foliage as well, it gives a nice perspective!!) but still a good start with the new kit. The second shot does seem to have a lesser effect of field rotation though even with the longer exposure.

Yep the tree image is my favourite too Pete. The sky is much less light polluted looking south towards Shropshire where as the 2nd image is facing east toward light polluting Stoke. I've stacked 8mins of data from the 2nd shot in DSS which has come out quite well :

I agree that's looking good Stuart. There's some nice star colour in there as well. Well done!!

Cheers Pete! Did a short time lapse on the tree image as the cloud was descending. 10 min gaps which look too long so will try 5 mins next time.
