is this comet jacques?

I took this at Dalby starfest, i was umm, err trying for M31 and got this object and dont know what it is

I can see the pic and yes probably, I tracked it over a couple of nights just to check I had the right thing as it looked like a globular cluster at first glance.

If it passed by M31 at the time it very likely was.  You could try submitting your pic to Astrometry (NOVA) and it will calibrate it for you.  Better if you know the approx coordinates.  Then if you know the date and time, just check the comet was in that location and bingo you have your answer.

When I first tried to image Jacques, the scope centred on a fuzzy blob and it looked like a small dim galazy/star cluster.  I then spent 20 - 30 minutes calibrating the mount before realising that it was the comet after all.

looks like it probably is Robin is right  Astrometry (NOVA) will tell you one way or the other.
