I've been using a nice dark tea towel to drape over the Telrad in an attempt to keep the dew at bay. Last night using the Dob I went to put it back on and it had disappeared. Looked everywhere with my red torch but eventually gave up thinking I would find it in the daylight and actually got another one. Later I defocussed a bright star just to check the collimation - hang on what's that strange shape instead of a doughnut? Yup - you guessed it - there was the tea towel nicely placed on the main mirror! Oooops....

I use a 1m square piece of blackout material as a light shield. Amazingly difficult to find in the dark sometimes too.......

I use a piece of blackout material 3'x1'. Doubles as a scarf and thus easy to find. Works for me.

My black towel is big, I have tripped over it once when I dropped it

and sometimes when I put it over my head part of it covers the tube,

then you think you have gone blind.
