how does sharpcap work???????   if i take a picture or video how do i work on that picture,,,,it goes to a file and wen i try to open it it opens in media player.

i cant seem to open it in sharpcap?

you need to use software to open and process the video
ASI2 or registax are the normal choices as well as PIPP for pre processing the video

Sharpcap is an image capture program (hence the cap in its name). Once you have captured the video file you then process it in a stacking program such as Registax or Astrostakkert.

As had been said. I use Sharpcap to capture my vids from a webcam. They're saved as .avi files. If it's a planet, I open the file in Castrator to crop out the excess black sky. PIPP does the same:

Then I stack in Registax.

For the Moon, I just stack in Registax.

AutoStakkert! is also good.
