Decent observing night at last. 19/8/14-20/8/14.

Rather than regurgitate my notes I have taken the lazy route! Here's some photos of my notebook pages which give a summary of my session last night and also hopefully give people some ideas about how to record observations. This is a very personal thing of course but this is how I do it.

I have started using a smaller sketch pad (A6) and then gluing them into my notes as this is less cumbersome when you have a pen, pencil, torch, notepad, eyepiece and telescope to handle with two hands.

The sketches have been cropped and inverted in 'paint'.

Nice sketches bud,

I took an A5 notepad on holiday intending to copy obs into my A4 diary on return, but felt that

neat copies would be distorted and would also lose the intimacy of the obs so just ripped them from the pad and

glued them into the diary.

When I am home I have a kitchen "island" table on wheels which I can migrate right to the back door to lay

my red torch and Obs diary on.

I also find A4 gives me loads of space for moaning to no-one about the weather, next doors security lights,

and the conspiracy of the local cats to trip me up in the dark. Very theraputic, if rather sad.
