Ceres & Vesta - 5th July 2014

Hi,

Ceres & Vesta made a very close angular pass on the night of the 5th July, only 10 arcminutes apart.  Unfortunately, they were in a fairly poor location for me, low to the south west and through a neighbours tree, but I managed to get several 2 min shots.  The only problem, DSS can't find enough stars to stack, so the following is a single frame with dimensions 33 x 25 arcminutes.

Excellent, a fantastic capture of this special event.  I wanted to get these for myself at 10 arcmins apart but I was thwarted by cloud.

That`s my excuse anyway (note to myself......I must try harder!)

nicely caught Robin, i followed this pair for around 2 months but missed the closest encounter unfortunately.
