Two new ngc projects started

Made a start on what I hope will end up as two LRGB images. Both at present are LRGB subs added together as grey scaled images as there's just not enough data to bring out either colour or structure.

One is a galaxy group: NGC's 5985, 5982 and 5981. The other is the Bubble neb: NGC 7635.

Captured with an Altair 8inch RC, Atik 383L+ mono, Baader filters and home made OAG with a Lodestar guider on an Avalon Linear mount.

Update - extra subs gathered

NGC’s 5985, 5982 and 5981 update:

More subs added to the previous session - total now:

Luminance: 11 x 900s

Red/Ha: 2x900s Ha, 7x600s Red combined as red channel

Green: 6x600s

Blue: 7x600s

Also grey scaled image of all the above subs.

NGC 7635 (Bubble nebula) also updated with more subs added to the previous session – Total now:

Luminance: 4x900s

Red/Ha: 4x900s Ha, 3x600s Red combined as red channel

Green: 3x600s

Blue: 3x600s

Processed as before: calibration with bias, dark and flat frames, registration and integration of individual channels then L(Ha/R)GB combined in PixInsight. Saved as 16 bit tiffs and further processed and cropped in Photoshop CS3.

Great result so far.

After seeing this, NGC’s 5985, 5982 and 5981 have become my imaging targets for tonight.
