dew sheild for edge hd11? any advice?

Recommended Posts

I notice after a while it looks like there is fog underneath my corrector plate. maybe its on the outside, but also I don't have any experience with dew shields or experience with what the dew looks like first hand at all.

I don't like the idea of moisture getting in there. I hope somebody doesn't tell me it shouldn't be under there, there is something wrong with your scope.

can anybody teach me more about dew, dew shields, how to manage it, what your trying to manage?

the idea of the dew shield is to collect, or stop moisture before it hits the front glass plate or mirror, they are easy to make, or you can pay a lot of money for an Astro-zap shop bought one, if you have moisture behind the front corrector plate, i would advise storing the scope in a warm place for a while, with eyepiece cap removed

I use a Astrozap dew shield with a built in heater, plus another heater on the outside of that, it keeps the corrector plate clear, these are run on the 13.8v supply with not regulation......Keeping the damp out i use a Desiccant cap the sachets i change are required they go green, then dry them out on a radiator.....
