Sun this morning

A fairly quiet morning as of 10am. Couple of half decent proms NE and W limbs. I suppose we are coming out of solar maximum though if I have read correctly.

Cheers Michael, yes it's not too bad here, cloud just starting to roll in.

You can never tell with the sun. A few days ago it was really active with some superb proms, now it's quiet again. I'm sure they'll be plenty more activity soon.

There was a huge plasma lift off from the twin towers and a simultanious flare nearby at about 1am which effectively blew the twin towers and a good filament away, leaving the sun looking quite plain again.

We may have just passed the solar max, but i'm sure there is planty more to come.
