LPS filter for Atik 314L+ color CCD

Recommended Posts

Which would be a better choice, the P2 or D1 type?

Does it make a difference which you choose if you have a mono camera rather than OSC?

I have both and I can't detect a difference TBH. IDAS filters are good but they are not the only choice and very expensive, depending on the type of the target you can use a Narrowband LPS filter such as the Baader UHC-s L Booster or even a Baader Neodymium. The SW LP filter has very similar spectral response curve to a Baader Neodymium and is less than 1/2 the price but I can't comment on the coatings use, neither are IR blocked.

P2 for mono. P1 for colour as the P1 cuts into NB too much for mono.

Edit: if you intend to leave in front of a fully loaded FW of course.
