at8rc / AP CCDT67 / aps-c ?

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks,

I've recently picked up my latest cloud magnet - a shiny new Altair Astro 8" RC - and am starting to get to grips with it.

At 1625mm it's longer focal length than I've worked with before so I'm sure will be a challenge :)

I have the .8 FR and initial tests show that this FR works fine with my DSLR.

The question i have is does anyone have practical experience of using the AP CCDT67 FR with this OTA and an APS-C sensor?

When i get fed up of trying to guide the beast at 1.3m I want to know what my options are :)

I've seen good results with this setup with smaller chip cameras but nothing definitive with APS-C/DSLR

Thanks in advance!

The CCDT67 is commonly used with this scope with good results.  I use it on my RC8 with a QHY8L, which has an APS-C size sensor.  There is a small amount of vignetting which is easily addressed with flats.
