When I do my DSO stuff I usually use a 40mm eyepiece. If the seeing is good them maybe a 25mm for closer inspection.

The higher magnification eyepieces are mostly used for planetary work.......

Lower magnification in a large aperture scope will give you nice bright wide images.

Sonia,

The following two images show how your 4, 10, 12 and 26mm will frame Pleiades and the Moon. The smallest ring is the 4mm. I have also added a 32mm ring (the largest outer ring) so that you can see its effect.

This last image shows how your three most powerful eyepieces - the 4, 10 and 12mm - will frame Saturn.
