Quick M42 in Ha

Hi all,

First imaging session for absolutely ages!  Not the best conditions but I can see stars!

Like many, M42 was the very first target I imaged. It's taken me quite a while to get back to it!  This is using my FSQ85EDX through an Ha filter.  10 x 10s, 60s, and 120s, and 5 x 300s.  These all blended together in Photoshop.

Good to see you back out imaging again Ian - this is a decent M42, the different exposure layers have blended together nicely to give a smooth finish.

This won't win any awards but it's good just to get outside and under the stars.  I didn't capture much data for this as I was really going for IC443 so the data is a bit noisy and I don't have enough of the 500 second subs to really go to town.  I've also been over the top in calming down Iota Orionis so that's a bit misleading...

Still, I've done some imaging :-)

Black point looked a bit clipped to me when I looked at it so I've been a bit more careful and looked after Iota Orionis.
