Looking through the LYNX - CANCER VOID

Finally a clear night..

After looking through a list of potential Lynx galaxy targets using this awesome site...

http://www.deepskylog.org

I managed to pick up NGC 2469 and NGC 2446. The later is a spiral galaxy about 1.5 times bigger than the milky way with a recessional velocity of 5668km/s so pretty far off (about 250 million light years). I am presuming its on the other side of the Lynx Cancer void if I have my Cosmos structure right. Here is the best pic I could find of it.

It was a wispy low surface brightness galaxy to the eye and required averted vision to spot.

The faintest star in my FOV was 14.1. I managed to spot a star of mag 14.6 near NGC 2469 so pretty transparent seeing.

So good to be out again...

Moon is now up so off to bed.
