SN2014j in m82 last night

Hi folks

Managed a solitary 5min shot of the SN in m82 last night, Sodium line(s) still showing well. I can only make out one Sodium line with my Alpy at 589nm.

Comparison plot with one taken on 27/01/14.

Thanks Ken. I`ve had a look at that new CCD driver in AA5, wondered what the difference was at first until I found Paolo`s tutorial, looks just the thing for spectroscopy, great stuff.

Good result, which could have been even better with the sky background removal of the light pollution.

May be worth trialling John P. BASS Project software.

Easy to use and easy to set up. It will handle your slant, calibration and sky removal.
