Horeshead Nebula - Ha

Recommended Posts

Hello,

So the skies cleared for a good period last night and a finally got to try out my modded EOS 1000D and the 12nm Ha clip in filter!

Targeted the Horsehead nebula as I have never imaged this before. I also completely forgot to take some shorter exposures for the Orion nebula so apologies in advance for the badly blown core! - hopefully I can get some shorter exposures soon to add + correct the core.

Two versions  - first is the full wide frame and the second is a smaller crop which was 2x drizzled in DSS.

Wonderful shot. Well done.

It may be with your Ha filter that some detail in the core remains. Try carefully masking the area or cheat and use the history brush as you up the curves.

Dave.
