Spotted M1 & M93 for xmas.

Xmas eve was mostly cloudy did some observations when it was nearly the start of xmas day the sky was very clear & the southern sky looked very nice with Orion, Taurus, Canis Major & Gemini with Jupiter in it. Told my Mum about how nice it looked, just before she came out I saw a a meteor streaked just below Orion(xmas day had just started by this time) When she did come out I pointed out the previously mentioned constellations then showed her NGC 884, M42, m37, M81, M82 & finally Jupiter(all of this new to her accept m42 & Jupiter think it may have been her first telescopic view of m42 though) then she when & only a little bit later finally spotted M1. After looking at some various other things I unintentionally spotted M93.

Neat, nice find, try M41 a bit nearer Sirius and another stunning open cluster,

Sounds like a very nice bonus session you had while most of us were under cloud! 

Many people struggle with M1 even with bigger apertures than yours so you did do very well.

Nice report, always cheers you up to observe a new object. I'm yet to see M1 but i'll get it eventually.
