The Moon's Newest Crater

Came across this neat before and after image of a crater formed by an impact in March this year, towards the edge of Mare Imbrium.

Looks like the impact sprayed debris across most of the frame. The impactor was estimated to be about a third of a metre across, resulting in an explosion equivalent to about 5 tons of TNT. This should have been naked eye visible from Earth at about 4th magnitude, it was captured on video.

It was captured by a NASA probe and is jot visible from any scope based on earth at 59 feet accross. Shame and a pity it wasnt the big one that recently hit Russia, that would have been a lightvshow!
