Just got a call from Astronomics that the ES 5.5 100s are in and ready to ship. Oh, boy!

That site says "Explore Scientific will be introducing a 5.5mm 100° field waterproof eyepiece at the end of April. For the convenience of those who want to get on the waiting list to be among the first to own this eyepiece, we are setting up this temporary product page for pre-orders."

So thats April 2014 I guess ?

Or did the call say that have come in early ?

If they are $400 over there goodness knows what the pricing in the UK will be. ES don't allow dealers here to match their US prices, unfortunately.

That page was set up when this ep and the 25mm were not yet available, which is when I signed up for them. Seems like that was over one year ago, now. Don't remember, exactly.

Interesting. A bt heavier than the 6mm Ethos then, which is just under 1 llb. Not many 2" format ~6mm eyepieces about.

TV went with the dual-size option on their shorter f/l Ethos which must contribute something to the price scale. ES decided to keep their 100s (save the 30mm) all at 2" for perhaps the same reason.
