just looking for a cheap tripod for your average 10x50 bins. would this hama tripod be up to the job ? ive not a clue with tripods.

I had thought of a monopod ,but I felt I would want some hands free time for sketching or note taking.

thanks in advance.

Rory,

How tall are you?. The model shown reaches a maximum height of just under 5 &1/2 ft fully extended. The tripod adapter will lift your glasses above this, slightly, but if observing anywhere overhead your eyes will have to be under them. Also, a 10x50 will be supported by most any tripod, but if you graduate to larger glass a more robust model may well be needed, moreover, a fully extended center-column will induce the most vibration when disturbed. Your enthusiasm is understandable, but you may wish to save for a bit and choose based on these considerations, rather than price, alone.
