LP Filters Baader Vs IDAS P2

Hi guys

With the arrival of my Hyperstar the speed increase to F2.3 made it obvious quickly that i needed to buy an LP filter for my camera. Starizona recommend either the Baader Neo LP Filter or the IDAS P2 LP filter.

The IDAS P2 is £155 nearly twice the price of the Baader, i don't mind paying it but is it worth the extra? is it twice as good for twice the money?

Hi Alan,

I've got both & to be honest I cannot tell the difference. I know everyone raves about the IDAS 

that's why I upgraded to it at the cost of £155. I contemplated doing a comparison but setting up & stripping down

on what precious nights we have imaging became a "no brainer".

May just go with the Baader for now then on that basis

If you're going that way you may as well stick with the Skywatcher LP filter as there's negligible difference between that and the Baader

However I found the IDAS to be the best LP filter bar none

Bar a dark sky that is, once I started using a dark site I had no use for the LP filter
