Slightly confused with flat frames!

Hi, I have been reading about how to take flat frames and in a lot of posts/tutorials people talk about getting the histogram peak at 1/3 to 1/2 of the total histogram.

Does this mean a sharp peak which is 1/3 to 1/2 of the way across the whole graph from say the left hand edge, or, does it mean the shaded area covers 1/3 to 1/2 of the full graph?

So, in other words like A or B below:

A. The flat will be relatively evenly lit. B would indicate you have a very wide range of intensity in your flat.

Ah! Thank you Freddie. Of course; that makes perfect sense when you stop to think about it.

All I need now is some clear skies to actually get out and do some more imaging!
