Cygnus : going west.

Couple of hours last night. Sky was incredibly black before midnight. Must have been dry clear air from the north. Unusual here to be warm on the ground with a light northerly.

Had a passing shot at Cygnus as it's drifting westwards now,

NGC 6866 was very fine at x48 with a dense star cloud in the middle of this open cluster, well worth finding.

Similarly with NGC 6871.

NGC 6910 showed it's delightful rocking horse shape.

NGC 7039 is a lovely line and arc packed with stars, really very fine . With similar clouds of stars in

NGC 7086 .

NGC 6888 showed about 20 bright stars held in the light emission wool with a UHC. NGC 6992 ( Veil) showed a bright elongated streak.

Keeping the UHC in the diagonal , just a few planetary nebulae, NGC 7027 a large blue in a dark field, standing out well.

Then down to Aquarius NGC 7009, bright but much smaller and NGC 6891.

Glided over to Vulpecula and caught the lovely cluster NGC 6800 , before clag dragged in.

Then to Equulus now quite high and the galaxy NGC 7015, faint but a double star to the Lhs.

Then onto Cepheus and the bright spiral galaxy NGC 6946, worth finding , but clag again just gave the low surface brightness. Have a shot.

Very pleased to get some time in as the forecast is for both ducks and swans,

Nick.
