First new galaxy with my new scope

Finally got my new 14 inch scope performing tonight.

Went for NGC 7768 which is the brightest member of an abel group of galaxies 350 million light years away.

Its located in the top left of the square of Pegasus.

It was fairly easy to see the oval misty object with averted vision just to the west of a triangle of stars using my 6mm lens..

A great start to the galaxy hunting career of the scope..

Congrats on that first light, and the brilliant new scope. Might have a shot t it this fall if the weather allows. I have seen it listed at mag 12.3, so within range of my 8" if conditions are good (after all, this summer I bagged a mag 13.3 fuzzy)

That's quite some scope, you're going to love it in spring when the Virgo cluster comes round:-)
