DSS and Ha via a DSLR - Help Please

Hi

I have some images taken with the kit in my signature and I have added a Ha 7nm filter

if I look at the raw image its pretty red (as expected)

Now what setting do I use in DSS to stack to produce a single Ha image, I assume the end result will be red ?, i see in the forum Ha images are often shown as monochrome ?

Oh they are 300 sec images

regards

The other thing to do once you have stacked the images is to extract just the red channel only and discard the green and blue. The G & B will just contain noise (maybe some faint signal) and the red channel will contain the Ha image. You then process the red channel as normal. - by extracting the red channel, this will give you the monochrome image
