For those within reasonable commuting distance, the public open evenings with Norwich Astronomical Society start on Friday 13th September with Mark Thompson.

"A Down to Earth Guide to the Cosmos" by @PeoplesAstro Mark Thompson.

"Mark is a wonderful promoter of astronomy, guiding the experienced amateur and complete novice with equal skill and passion."

Professor Brian Cox

  • Doors open at 7:30 with talks starting at 8:00, unless the room fills up earlier, in which case the talk will start sooner and depending on numbers could be repeated.
  • Talks vary in length but generally last approximately 40 minutes and are aimed at those with a general interest in astronomy. Children are welcome (recommend from about 8 years upwards)
  • Admission is Adults £3.00 Adult members £2.00 All Children £1.50

On Friday 11th of October we have "Imaging - A Learning Curve" by Shaun Reynolds"

Shaun (he'll kick me for writing this) is one of the most friendly, modest person you could meet. He's given his time, advice and encouragement to many who have started their own journey to recording what they see. This isn't a "how to" workshop on astrophotography.

This is about a journey from novice imager to becoming shortlisted for the Astro Photographer of year at Greenwich Royal Observatory award.
