M54 in the murk

From what started as a binocular tour through Sagittarius from M22 to the lovely gas regions and star cloud decided to try for some of the southern objects in the telescope.

Had a look at M22 - at 54x got a hint of some outreaching stars - must be some sight under better conditions. Went down to find M54 only a couple of degrees bellow Zeta but found myself looking at grey on grey, eventually made it out just at 44x but better at 54x with the trusty 13mm plossl ! Some thin mist started to roll in so that was that. M70 and M69 will have to wait for another night before they vanish for another year.
