Does anyone know of a local group in Gloucestershire? I am especially looking towards the Cirencester or Stroud area. I am a real newbie who has just started this wonderful hobby and would love to patch in with some like minded folks in the local area.

If there isn't a group, would anyone be interested in joining me and starting one off?

I went to the BAA out of town meeting that was hosted by CAS and they seemed a friendly bunch!

The next meeting is next Saturday all newcomers are welcome to attend. The location is Shurdington Village Hall near Cheltenham. 7.45pm

Have you made it along to one of these yet? I'm also thinking of going along to see what's happening...sent the CAS an email this week but no reply yet.

Hoping that it's a lively society with plenty of people keen to show a relative newcomer the ropes out in the field!

I sent an email to CAS and got a very helpful reply, thinking of joining now

I went along to the CAS meeting last Saturday - a very friendly bunch of people, the talks given were excellent, they have some kit available for hire and are planning some observing evenings in a month or so.

I was impressed enough to join up on the spot!
