M13

Well, I managed to get about 15 decent enough images using my expensive imaging setup of M13 last night. I used 7 or 8 flats, about 20 bias shots and maybe 10 darks. I cropped the image down and mucked about with the levels and curves in photoshop.

Oh, to have an HEQ5, huh?

I think that's a good attempt. Perhaps the focus is a little soft, but if you look at the images I've posted today of M3 and M5 you'll see I'm having the same problem. I may well have cracked it last night though, so if the promised clear sky arrives I'll have another go tonight.

That's a nice image. You've caught the star colours there. I find globulars quite hard to image clearly.

Thanks, guys. I thought the softness was more to do with the tracking of the motor on the eq2; I think it struggles with the weight of a camera, to say the least. I'll try with my home-made bahtinov next time. I was lazy and adjusted until I liked what I saw.
