Balancing the telescope

There's a great video on YouTube showing how to balance scopes, just type in astroshed and look for the one on balancing.

I always thought that all reflector users with EQ mounts were either contortionists or constantly rotating the OTA in the tube rings to get at the eyepiece. Sureley this will render verrtical balancing a bit redundant for visual use.

I do admit though for imaging it will make a difference

True, but I'm hoping the combination of a magnetised weight and a methodical approach to balancing will do the trick. It's either that or brush up on my limbo skills ;)
