Henry Wildey

Saw this on ebay. It says it has a Henry Wildey mirror and an Irvine focuser, like this is a good thing.

I still have a signed 6" f8 Wildey mirror - Hmmmm that brings back memories!!

Don't like the look of the tube, though, not sure whether it has received the care or storage conditions optics require. The mirror will certainly need a cleaning, and most likely recoating. That rather adds to the cost

Hi, Yes H.Wildey mirrors are very good for their time, and were used usually for visual use. I also had a 5" F 15 achro lens by H.W. some 20 years ago, but it was a very LONG tube and not easy to take in and out of the garage to use. But gave very good planet detail.
