Picture of last nights Milky Way :)

Not the greatest image in the world, but I'm pretty pleased with it considering it was taken in my back-garden surrounded by the towns light pollution. Going to hunt down some dark spots in my area and take multiple exposures so I can stack for a better result.

That's not a bad image from the centre of a town. Well done.

What were you using & what were the settings?

If you have a light pollution filter it should get rid of the worst of the LP or you could try some adjustments in a program like GIMP or Photoshop.

Thanks I'm using a Panasonic G3 with 20mm 1.7 lens on a Gorillapod Tripod. I think the exposure was f2, iso 1600, at 25 seconds.

Dropping the ISO and increasing the exposure time accordingly should remove a lot of the noise. Still a nice picture all the same.
